It's supported but not all features are thorough tested for Ruby19 compat. Still it's nice to see that support for Ruby19 is progressing. Help is always welcome with Spree.

ActiveMerchant 1.5.0 was released, and Spree edge already support it.
So, now Spree will work with Ruby 1.9.x out of the box.

Only if you build your own ActiveMerchant 1.4.2 gem

Please use ruby19 support branch

http://github.com/romul/spree/tree/598-ruby-19-support

While waiting for ActiveSupport and ActiveMerchant gem release, there are quite few issues with ruby19 and this would be the next release goal for the project.

Doesn't work due to the fact the current gem still depend on old activesupport (1.4.1) which has problem with UTF8-string. The upstream version fixed that but there are NameError error when loading the store. I am hoping the team will be working to make spree working well with Ruby 1.9. For the time being, it IS NOT WORKING.
